Reason why I painted these women
I was moved by a specific book about women that survived the recent wars. It was called “The Beekeeper” by Dunya Mikhail. The paintings were inspired by the photos of Yazidis women and children after being kidnapped and enslaved by ISIS. Here is a sample of some of the survivors
“Painting is a way to express the profound love and fascination that I have for nature”
“I have been drawing the walking flower for a very long time. It has become the logo of my life.”
“I chill like a boss. Occasionally though, I may spontaneously get my freak on.”
